Resolutions!

I know I said I don't believe in resolutions, and I really don't, but besides the obvious getting-my-finances-in-order and getting-my-ass-back-in-shape goals that are always there, lingering, here are some things I have planned for 2012.

1. Learn my cuts of meat. A stew I want to make calls for pork shoulder. I had no idea what that was exactly. So I just spent two hours reading about cuts of meat. Pork is on decent sale right now because all the Eastern Europeans eat their pork & sauerkraut on New Year's. In my family it was always corned beef and cabbage.

2. Organize books and CDs, and digitize the music. It looks like Hoarders up in here.

3. Entertain more. I'm good at it, and while I find it stressful on a number of levels, I enjoy it. I'm already plotting a Derby party. Derby falls on May 5 this year so we might also have to get some sombrero action going on.

4. Eat more fruits and veggies. I would be a bigger fan of salad for lunch everyday if I actually liked lettuce. I think that is a big problem for me.

5. Try out new recipes and enjoy cooking at home more. Well duh, this is a constant process.

6. Play my DRUM KIT:

  1. I haven't given up on digitizing my music, but in the meantime I am a big believer in chucking the jewel box cases and putting music & movies into those zippered cases.

  2. I'm the same way with entertaining. I like to do it, but it stresses me out!

  3. @mamacita: Yeah, I went that way when I was in college, and it definitely helps in terms of organization. I listen to 99% of my music online now, though. The boyfriend has a huge music collection, CD and vinyl, so I'm thinking ahead to the day he moves in and we have to find room for his stuff too!
